Damaged Palette

It’s fine…
4This palette is very pretty, but I know I have better indie shadows in my collection. I only maybe use half of the shades. The formula is nice, but there are shades that are marked as “not safe for the eye area.”

What an exciting palette!
4I’ve been using the Nouveau palette for two months now and it’s the palette I reach out to the most. I’ve actually never been so EXCITED about owning an eyeshadow palette before - and here’s why: 1. The colour story. It just blows my mind, honestly! The first time I saw that lilac shade (wisteria), I thought “ew, that one is really out of place. Why would anyone ever add a random shade like that?”. Then I discovered that I actually own a blouse that has a combination of pretty much all the shades in the palette (photo attached). So I decided to make a look with the wisteria shade and I was honestly amazed. It goes so well together with all the other colours, and really compliments my tanned olive-tone skin! I now use wisteria in almost all the looks I create. 2. Quality - absolutely amazing, soooo fine milled and buttery soft. There formula is a bit loose (as is the case with other ABH palettes), but I don’t mind it at all, and most importantly, the eyeshadows stay on my eyelids for the whole day. The shimmers are very very buttery so make sure you only apply a bit of pressure when reaching for the colour (I like using my finger for the shimmery colours and need to be very gentle when picking up the product!) 3. Packaging - absolutely stunning, sturdy, looks expensive and durable. I hope this is the new look for all ABH palettes and they will move away from those pre-Nouveau velvety covers that collected every microgram of dust! You might ask - why I remove one star if I’m so much in love with the palette? This is because ABH indicated that three colours (including my favourite wisteria) are not for the use near the eyes. I find it bizarre - after all this is an EYE shadow palette so all the shades should be 100% safe.

5Beautiful summer-fall palette. It contains a combo of neutral and slightly warm toned shades. Shimmer shades are buttery smooth and apply with just one swipe, matte shades are highly pigmented and easily blendable, like always. There is a small falllout from darker shades. The packaging is elegant and pleasant to the touch. If you like this color story, I definitely recommend getting this palette!

5When this palette launched, I knew I had to have it because it is SO stunning and ethereal, kind of whimsy and romantic like classic literature or something. It is very difficult to put into words the effect the color story had on me. Honestly this is not even a color story I would normally go for, I am a winter-toned gal. My skin is fair and pink (pinker than the photo/video show my inner arm, also apologies for the flash.. I wanted to really show the shimmers and it was nighttime), and for a long time I wasn’t sure I *could* even wear shades like this. Now if you are pink, just know that the olive greens are probably going to pull more gray/less green on you (because color theory, red/pink+green= neutral mix of the two). I actually think all the shades look really nice on me, I am able to create way more variety of looks than I expected and the formula is gorgeous. I would say most of these shades have less fallout than the previous ABH rectangle palettes formula, the kick up doesn’t bother me in those and it isn’t a deciding factor for me but if that’s something that you feel strongly about, know that these still have some but not as much as before at least in my experience. If it speaks to you and you have the means, I absolutely would recommend. If you’re looking to catch it on a sale, check Beauty Bay, I have seen it on sale multiple times there since it has been released. (Bonus info: If don’t follow already, check out Patty Alonso’s channel on YT she is wondering and does an amazing review/swatch + 5 looks video on this palette/many others.. a great resource for inspo!)
